Founded in 1966, CEAS now has over 300 member firms.

Among other initiatives, CEAS keeps members informed on industry issues through a quarterly newsletter and an annual Members’ Forum held at various locations around New Zealand.

2026 CEAS Members’ Conference

We are thrilled to announce the inaugural CEAS Members’ Conference, a landmark occasion that not only brings together our members for a day of insight and connection — but also celebrates 60 years of CEAS. On 23 July 2026, Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre will host this one-day gathering of insurance industry representatives and engineering professionals. Together, we’ll explore the forces shaping our industries and prepare for the challenges ahead.

CEAS Webinar Invitation – History of CEAS & Members Survey Report

You are invited to join CEAS Board member Michelle Grant from LGE Consulting for a webinar at 12:30pm on Wednesday 3rd December covering the history of CEAS. This webinar will provide a history of CEAS, and help explain the linkages between CEAS, Engineering New Zealand and ACE. It will also explain some of the organisational structure of CEAS, including who Indemnity and General are, and how we work with our partners, Aon and Kendons.

Sophie South Awarded 2025 Aon Don Houchen Scholarship

CEAS is delighted to announce that Sophie South, Principal Civil Engineer at Davis Ogilvie, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Aon Don Houchen Scholarship. Sophie will use the scholarship to undertake the Homeward Bound leadership programme, which combines online learning with an in-person component in Tanzania, East Africa.

The $25,000 (excl. GST) Aon Don Houchen scholarship is awarded to one or more people each year. Recipients must be an employee of a CEAS member firm and have at least 3 years industry experience.
